Animal Testing Cosmetics Campaign
The idea behind “Freedom for Animals” Campaign, was to highlight the effects of makeup testing on animals. I had read many views of what the general public opinionated about these three campaigns, and it was quite surprising about the debate between the for and against side of it. Here I read:

Ok lets put it to you this way…If you had to choose between yourself and an animal which would you choose. The testing has to be done. You can run numbers and try to make estimates all day on what you think might happen when someone uses a product but if you don’t test it you get lawsuits and people being disfigured and in some cases possibly even death. I can’t believe that any other way would be an option. We are the superior race you do realize this correct? It isn’t as though we are taking loved pets from the arms of their owners and strapping them down and torturing them laughing the whole while! Common sense, apparently in short supply on this debate, needs to prevail.

Honestly, humans have a choice for such testing. Animals don’t. They can’t speak up. People get paid for testing certain things and being apart of them. That’s the difference here.

This is horrible, for the animals i mean, but this ad was super effective. It shows the end results of animal testing, I don’t understand why they use humans instead. I don’t mean that they should start testing on humans, but I mean they should pay humans who are willing to do the experiments, and keep animals out of it. What did animals ever do to people seriously, we are the harmful ones not them. Animals should have the same rights as we do, and not have to be humiliated by people. Animals have rights to, not legally, but you know what I mean. I can say I am or was a hypocrite by posting this, because in the past I have used products that were tested by animals, but for the last 2 years I have been super cautious by what I buy, to ensure I don’t endanger any species, from rats to monkey etc.

I hate it that animals are used for testing make up and all that other stuff. Why would you do that to some poor little monkey, or another animal. Why don’t they use it on people when people are using it. Unkown said on September 30th, 2007Are you kidding me? Maybe Animal Rights people use the “shock” factors because idiots like you dont even give a crap about what US HUMANS do to innocent animals. Give me a freakin break. They were there before we were. I wouldn’t give a crap if we left and they stayed. The world might actually live a few billion years more sinse we feel the need to polute everything we see. Think about what you’re saying first before opening that huge gap in your face.

“Cute Fluffy animals” is not the reason I hate ALL animal cruelty. I just love animals for all the reasons that they deserve more respect and they have everything feeling emotionally and physically like humans do. It’s only the pathetic, selfish, ugly and stupid people that don’t care about the pain an animal has to go through for something so useless and stupid like Make up just to suit the naive humans needs (More like lack of needs, its all about want with people). We’re animals too of course, you should know this, so why use another animal just to hide for your ugly spotty faces anyway? If something from an animal is used like fur, meat, skin…etc, then if they are killed humanly and proper (professionally), thats OK! But if they are slaughtered/Skinned alive then I have bad issues! Thats when I have problems! SOME Animal testing is unnecessary!

What are you guys trying to say by not testing on animals? What’s our alternative? on humans? You all are crazy and ignorant to think testing on animals is bad, I’m not saying I like it anymore that you do but, it’s not like we can put HUMAN lives on the line now can we.
Having read the for and against opinions of those who willingly commented on the campaign, really made me feel quite angry. I suppose you could say I am a bit biased , considering my views of animal testing has always been the same and my opinions or views around the issue will never change. I strongly believe, in a world we live in today, despite illnesses needing a cure, or new medicines needing a “guinea pig” to test on , shouldn’t rely on any species of animal for products that will be genetically designed for humans to use. The argument is, why not use humans? because aren’t the cosmetics that are tested on animals, for humans? . Millions of animals suffer with excruciating pain when under cosmetic lab testing, I for one think it is an absolute disgrace to treat an animal so disrespectfully and so cruel. Every living creature has a right to back out of anything it doesn’t want to do, especially if it were a human. Animals are belittled because they don’t speak out or somewhat tell us what they want, feel etc, but that’s why humans should possibly study these beautiful creatures more thoroughly to detail, instead of destroying potential living creatures on this planet. The one quote that was fairly stated by an unknown person, how us as humans are the only thing that’s a harmful killer, so much pollution and cruelty is brought into this world, and the potential lifespan of the planet is at jeopardy all because of the human race. It physically makes me sick that any human being can be responsible for the deaths of many helpless animals. The campaigns seem very effective in all hindsight, it makes people more aware of the brutal acts in which animals face daily within a lab, and it’s great to see that there is still faith in humanity.
