" Making Faces , playing God"
I had a research after the lecture on the demonic, I did find the information quite useful toward my project. It is quite interesting to see how people interpret how demons appear.
"The pure demonic"
Vampires never quite lose their link to humanity. In this sense they are tragic as much as demonic. Their origins are human, and they survive by maintaining human ties, by drinking the lifeblood of humans. Immortality has its price. Pure demons, on the other hand, have no such weakness or dependence. Just as God can presumbly exist without man ( just as the creation was optional rather than necessary), so too can Satan exist without persons. A demons life is just duller without persons to prey upon, a life that has lost its raison d'etre.
One of these is to assume that Satanor or Demons look just like us.

Following after Petes Lecture, this was a lecture I was thoroughly interested in as it is the sort of work I wish to go into in the future. CGI and digital effects is also based around my SI project, and it was a very interesting topic to understand the various methods and equipment used within film and television.
CGI is becoming increasingly overused these days in recent television, I was very unaware of how much effort and work is used in films to create all the digital effects, but it can make anything often appear too fake very quickly. I understand CGI has to be used to removed objects that cannot physically be removed practically. An example would be, Voldemort from Harry Potter, His nose was removed digitally as it was impossible to change his appearance using practical effects. CGI is often used to create big effects, such as explosions, this reduces the risk of not only polution but saves the effort of real explosions.
In my case, CGI should only really be used to replace or used when practical effects lack in producing something that simply cannot be done without the use of digital effects.

Long hours, be expected to not even have your makeup not appear in the cuts.
Be prepared for weather, provide own materials and clothing for different locations
Portfolio rarely needs updating once you are apart of the industry, word of mouth tends to get you into a new job and if you know other artists on different work placements
- Practical effects are still being used today, including animatronics.
A useful lecture when discussing the jobs of makeup artists of today. It was great to get first hand information from an artist in today's industry working on latest films and upcoming future films that are still using practical effects. This has helped me along with my dissertation, as the main point was to find out whether the jobs of makeup Artists are wiping out due to CGI ( computer generated imagery) , and to be told ....Primary Research that it isn't always used was a bonus for me to find out, as it would help me for my debate further on.
